An Exciting New Chapter for WWC Student, Katie Little
Undergraduate researcher Katie Little is starting as a PhD student in the Biological Sciences Department at the University of South Carolina in Fall 2026. She’ll be pursuing research that connects her interests in natural history, evolutionary biology, and population genetics. Congratulations, Katie!
Warren Wilson Students Attend a Rare Plant Meeting
Conservation and Social Media intern, Chloe Borgnis and Alisa Hove took several Warren Wilson College students to the North Carolina Friends of Plant Conservation meeting in October 2025. At the conference, we learned about major news in the world of rare plant conservation and joined other botanists and conservationists on a paddling trip in the Uwharries to see the rare Yadkin River Goldenrod (Solidago plumosa).

During this interview, she talked about her research on plant ecophysiology, plant-fungal interactions, and drought stress in relation to a paper that was published recently in the journal Ecologies with lab alum Grace Dougherty, Grace Zaboski, and Warren Wilson College Forest Biology Professor Eric Griffin.
